Our survey suggests that the paranthas at Sukhdev’s keep up to the hype it has created for itself. Although it serves all kinds of Indian cuisines, its taste and quality of paranthas are up to the mark. However,  the increasing number of customers and sometimes lesser availability of staff lowers the expectations sometimes. Customers feel that its old version was even a better version of the one this place has emerged to be. Yet it is worth the hype and trying this out isn’t something you would regret later on!

Ambience and service:

The restaurant remains flooded with visitors, leading to overcrowding and long queues sometimes. However, the infrastructure is good and  the staff makes a lot of efforts to cater to everybody’s needs.

Garam Dharam

Launched by veteran actor Dharmendra, this restaurant is purely based on the theme of his movies. It is surely a foodie’s paradise, as it offers a variety of Indian cuisines at affordable prices.

Quality:

The paranthas served at Garam Dharam are good but do not expect too much too soon. Some paranthas might be a little better in taste as compared to the others, however, they lack the satisfying exotic flavour, which some other restaurants along the highway promise.

Ambience and service:

The ambience is pretty good, as the restaurant is decked up with posters from the legendary actor Dharmendra’s movies. With some amazing Hindi numbers in the background and personal seating arrangements for your family, you would surely enjoy your visit. There is a separate section for kids and some classic Bollywood props , including the Jai-Veeru bike from Sholay. Service is pretty good as well.

Shiva Dhaba

Shiva Dhaba, opened by Mama Yadav, claims to be one of the finest restaurants in the town of Murthal. Along with a myriad of cuisines, the restaurant boasts of its special thalis customized according to the regions of India.

Quality:

The paranthas served at Shiva Dhaba are appropriate in size and taste, with some reviewers rating it to be better than the ones served at Sukhdev’s. Some of the items like aloo parantha and Dal fry are a hit. Do not miss a cup of tea with the paranthas.

Ambience and service:

The ambience is good, not very lavish but sufficient to seat a large number of people and cater to their needs. This is ensured by the friendly staff and efficient management.

Average price:

One parantha would cost between 55-75 Rs.

Gulshan Dhaba

The 65-year-old restaurant boasts of the standard it has maintained over the years. It became an instant hit when it was found, and it enjoys its popularity and attention today as well.

Quality:

The paranthas served at Gulshan Dhaba are smaller in size as compared to the other restaurants but fulfilling in taste. Other items like Poori Sabzi and Soya Chaap are worth tasting. Overall, the quality of paranthas is decent.

Ambience and service:

The restaurant has been renovated and offers a comfortable seating space and facilities to its customers.

Bikanerwala

We have all been to one of the Bikanerwala chains, and we love it for its sweet and spicy assortments.

Quality:

Bikanerwala, being a renowned chain, definitely offers a lot of expectations. The quality of food and hygiene is good. However, prefer trying other restaurants/ dhabas for paranthas if stopping at Murthal while on your journey.

Ambience and service:

The seating capacity and service is good, at par with the other restaurants lining Murthal. It does not remain overcrowded, giving it an edge in terms of queues and waiting time.
